Privacy Policy

The short version
We keep as little as we can. We need your email to run your account, your descriptions and photos to draw for you, and a record of credits so we can charge fairly. We do not sell any of it.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and sign-in method, handled by Clerk, our login provider. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
- Your drawings. The text you type and photos you drop in are sent to an image model run by Google, through OpenRouter, to make the picture. Photos are used for that one drawing and are not stored by us. Finished drawings are stored in your browser; drawings you choose to share are stored on our servers so the link works.
- Credits and payments. A ledger of credits earned and spent, and which drawings you made. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see them. Stripe sends us confirmation of what you bought.
- Your network address. To give visitors free drawings without an account and to prevent abuse, we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the address itself.
- Basic logs. Errors and request timing, kept briefly to keep the service working.
Who processes it
Clerk (accounts), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and OpenRouter together with Google (making the pictures). Each acts on our instructions to run Inkling.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you signed in. A small cookie remembers that you have used the studio before so we skip the front page. If you arrive from one of our ads, a cookie remembers which ad brought you, for 90 days, so we can tell which ads are worth running; it holds the campaign name, not anything about you. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or personal identifiers, and when we run ads on Pinterest their tag may set its own cookie to count sign-ups and purchases that came from an ad. Nothing here is sold or shared beyond that.
Your choices
You can delete your account from the account menu, which removes your email and credit records; shared drawings you have published stay reachable by their links unless you ask us to remove them. You can turn off the public gallery for any share. Email markdfm@gmail.com for anything else, including a copy of your data.
Children
Inkling is not for children under 13. If we learn we hold an account for someone younger, we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email.
